I never complain...mostly when here I ask questions. This time I'm very disturbed over the new performance of the grid. Lately I can't do anything the way I used to. My typing comes out long after I've typed... I keep typing long after I'm finished, and my sentences are not in order.

More... I know I'll get a response that it's already on the blog, but that doesn't seem to help my immediate problem. I'm not able to get online as often as I would like, and I do spend a considerable amount of real life money to be here. So when I am here, I would love to be able to play and have fun...lately that's not so :-(

I know it's not altogether anyone's fault and I'm not saying that SL isn't the place that I want to be, because it is. I just want to be able to enjoy it the way that I used to.

Will we be upgrading again BEFORE fixing the problems that we have now? I don't think that putting in new furniture before fixing the house is a good idea :-((

I hope I didn't ruffle any feathers. I didn't mean to insult/hurt anyone's feelings. I just want to play and have fun :-))

The symptoms (chat delays, repeated chat) sound to me like what I've experienced with heavy packet loss. On the top right of the screen there are two small bars...the one on the left indicating packet loss and the one on the right, bandwidth. If either is in the red you've got issues. Packet loss is most often a problem on wireless networks, so if you are not directly connected to your broadband modem, I would suggest doing so. There are other causes of, and potential solutions to, packet loss which are listed HERE.

If you've determined that packet loss is not the issue then please do keep an eye on the Blog and the Known Issues page where you might find a description that fits your experience. Also, make use of the technical support section of the Knowledge Base which can often be quite helpful in solving your performance issues.

Worse comes to worse, you can go to Request Help inworld or call Customer Support where someone will hopefully be able to help narrow down the issue.
