the chat bar used to go away when i hit enter. I want this feature back...is there a way to set this feature back to that option? Its a pain in the ass like IM is I liked the old way better.

In preferences, in Chat, near the middle is 'Close chat after hitting return'. If this is checked and it is not closing file a bug report.
