Torley, I can't respond to your response to my question but I feel it's warranted because it appears you've misunderstood. The crux of the matter is: I cannot mute an object in-world when I am not in-world at the time it is spamming me! That's why its IMs are diverted to my email address you see. I am not logged-in to Second Life. I appreciate that copybot defeaters must be low on your list of priorities at this intensely busy time (understandable), but the two Linden responses to this now make me wonder if you fully appreciate their out-of-world ramifications enough to be taking them seriously at all. These things aren't comparable to nightclub objects that use llShout() to annoy people across the same sim. They use llInstantMessage(), a function whose communications are diverted outside of Second Life to our Real Life email inboxes when a unique set of buggy circumstances occur. (I suspect it happens when multiple copybot defeaters are IMing me from both sides of a sim border at the point when I logout.) I do appreciate your response Torley. I just want to make sure you understand why a simple mute solution is not applicable here. Take care.

Oh please pardon me, Walker! Clearly you have an eye for detail. Answer from what I know is: I've heard of several times when Copybot spam affected someone's out-of-world email similar to yours. I'm glad you wrote this: From: Walker Moore They use llInstantMessage(), a function whose communications are diverted outside of Second Life to our Real Life email inboxes when a unique set of buggy circumstances occur. (I suspect it happens when multiple copybot defeaters are IMing me from both sides of a sim border at the point when I logout.) What should be done then: please send a bug report from Help menu > Report Bug, even if you don't have the most solid of repros, you *do* have a hunch, and that sounds like a lead in the right direction. The bug, and it isn't particular to Copybots, should be fixed in the first place. So the root issue here is what should be a known, reproducible issue to us. Anyone reading this and experiencing the same, please do help us track this down.As mentioned before, I asked if we need a policy clarification or action taken on this. But I do know you and other appreciate any help we can provide in this... I know it isn't the most desirable thing, but if your email client has incoming filters, you can use those to auto-trash unwanted IM-to-emails.
