I am in Ohio which is EST, +3 hours ahead of PST.
I create an object in world and take it to my inventory. When I check the properties of the item in my inventory, the acquired time/date stamp is set to my local time zone. Could this be causing any stress on the asset server? Since I am not too in the know on the asset back-end database, considering that the asset data seems to store that data and with all the different time zones co-existing in SL, could all these time differences be playing a role in asset server communication as it searches the DB and needs to filter through the date of the asset creation, especially when the sort mode is by date? Could this explain inventory problems and other related slow downs or other major performance issues that affect TP and object creation from inventory? Could this explain lost inventory after a crash of the asset server, especially if the DB requires a re-index and during a re-index anything that does not fit within parameters (in this case a date/time difference) would get purged? Since L$ transactions would get time-stamped as well, could this explain any lost L$ after a crash of any other related databases pending the time stamp was set on a L$ transaction involving purchases would not be in-line with the asset vs L$ transaction time-stamp?
Thanks
