Yesterday TPed into Elvin Gardens. THere was a man there and before I could even say hi, he shot me. Followed him everywhere, filed abuse report with exact name and location. Got a Linden in live help gave them his name the location fo the attack and exact time. I was really confident that good they have all the info, they can check the server logs and we finally get rid of a greifer. A greifer BTW who was created the day before but had two weapons he used, had a job as security and no payment info!!!!!! LOg on this morning and guess what I see: HE IS STILL ONLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am mad as hell. LL what is the deal, what does it take to get rid of these that are causing us the paying citizens so much trouble???????????????????? I read somewhere in the forums that someone thought SL was trying to up the number of users to be able to sell. THe more I think about it the more I would have to agree with this assessment. We have been told that the reason for the changes to the system was to give people in other countries access to the game.

BUt why even give access if they will never be able to use Paypal or Credit Cards? What it the advantage in doing this? Only one I can think of and that is to up the subscriber base. There is no advantage in this for the paying customers, all this does is bring in greifers and strain to the breaking point systems that were already beyond capacity. Took twenty minutes for things to rezz around me last night!!!!!!!!!!!!. Anywhere I go now it is like walking through molasses. Linden Labs are you looking to sell this game??????? Give us a straight answer, do not BS us and say no and then turn around and do it.

Heya Jesse... griefer disturbances blow chunks--I agree with you it can be incredibly upsetting and a waste of your time. Abuse reports can take some time to check out, but provided you gave sufficient details, and the abuse was consequential enough, action *will* be taken. I've seen it myself, many times.

In the meantime, this is solid: we're aggressively taking steps to beef up anti-griefing tools. The parcel ban on land now extends to 768 m, so if this continues to be a problem at Elvin Gardens, let the landowner know.

We're also going to add per-parcel push restrictions so guess what? It means that if you get shot, it won't blow you away--you'll stay in place and won't be a pain in the ass.

That's not the only addition; much more has been added and is formally recorded in the Release Notes:

Ultimately we want to give you more control of your experience so you aren't bothered by griefing.

It's also worth remembering that we're continuing to investigate international payment methods. This is very much in-progress, so there'll be more news to come.

And no, we're not looking to sell SL. Please stay tuned to Robin's blog for more community news:
