As is often the case the Mac update (52mb) for this version of Second Life is twice the size of the version for Windows (25mb).
Whats going on? With the once every week download and sometimes more I am beginning to receive surcharges for exceeding my bandwidth allotment from my ISP.

Josh clued me in--it's because the Mac download is a Universal Binary, which contains both the Intel Mac-compatible and legacy PowerPC versions. So, about twice the size.
