So you know how you can set your land to be for pay? Well what I was thinking is if land could have an optional donation with a message. This could help event venues pay for the entertainment without actually charging people. Ok so we are KIND of charging but not really since it would be optional.

So like... if we could set the optional donation to 20L (for example) and add a message that says "If you like hearing live music (or whatever the event is) please consider donating 20 to this venue to help defray our costs of bringing it to you" Then there could be a box that has "donate 20L to [name of place]?" and a yes or no option. No would do nothing. Yes would take 20L from the attendee's bank and add it to the owner of the venue.

So what do you all think? Specially interested in hearing from Lindens about this and how feasible it is.

Hey Vivianne!

On a tangent: I'm happy Live Music was added as an Event category. And back to the main: I'd like to see more of this type of thing emerge, including facilitating most gracious donators to contribute.

Technically, it sounds straightforward--like a modified pay dialog box. But I'm wondering if this should really be in the system land tools, or made more extensible by Residents, because I think there are all sorts of nifty spin-offs that could come about.

A couple things I'm wondering:
  1. Who uses the current "Sell passes allowing temporary access" in the land tools? If there are any key examples I should check out inworld, please let me know.
  2. More Resident feedback and demand for such a feature, and further discussion of the implementation thereof? I didn't see a vote proposal... but by all means, putting it in Feature Suggestions would help too.
I'd like to follow up on further developments... :)
