why are we getting junk in the blog about this amazon crap that we have no clue its just a guy rambling on about nothing that interests the majority of residents in 2nd life. and why does amazon get to advertise on our log in page???? isnt that for updates and the real sl news about fixing bugs and what not. the following can be used for better customer service
1. no junk in the blog bad enough we have to be forced to read it for sl news
2. dont leave us on hold forever when we call into rl linden labs. my daughter in real life still cant get into her acct or on second life and she has a premium acct. and i have a friend who can get into second life but not into her acct on the site
3. listen to the residents and not ones with big tons of money that pad your pockets but us who are at the bottom of the financial totem poll who have been here on sl for ages since it began.
4. each linden needs to be a residents with no high powers for a week before they are a linden including you Phillip to fully understand the neesd of the residents.

I don't know that I can answer all your questions or points. But the Amazon S3 blog post was specifically SL news, posted by a Linden (Jeff Linden).
How it pertains to the average user is that it should reduce the huge spikes of packetloss that has followed the immediate release of our last couple of versions. We have recently crossed a threshold where the amount of data being served by everyone downloading a new client would push us past the amount of bandwidth we have available. Moving the client downloads off of our bandwidth and over to Amazon's bandwidth should eliminate this specific problem. In other words this is very good news for Second Life.
* note there are still some packet loss issues we are investigating, and this doesn't pertain to persistant long term packetloss.
I don't have answers to your 2nd and 3rd points, sorry! I do know we are having a community roundtable specifically about customer support issues very soon. Hopefully we can improve this situation.
As for the last point, many Lindens to spend significant amounts of time In World. I was a "normal" resident for about a year and a half before I "became" a Linden. In other words - I agree!
