I hope this issue is inaccurate

* Delete when chat bar is open deletes selected item instead of text

If you disabled deleting items while the chat bar is "open" that would be a disaster. I keep my chat bar open 100% of the time. Delete should be routed to chat when the chat bar has focus(highlighted text or blinking cursor). When the chat bar is simply "open" but doesn't have focus delete should be able to delete objects.

Jon, I went through this several times to get a better understanding. What you describe sounds correct and consistent with the current convention we adhere to of keys and shortcuts applying to what has focus: the editing tools OR the chatbar, but not both at the same time.

Looks like there's more to this issue than meets the eye--I'll be sure to add your concern.
