Hi

I want to give students control of learning spaces and learning tools on my land.

I'd like to know if it possible to do the following:

1. In a room or building, have containers in fixed positions which have a rez/unrez toggle click for a tool (e.g. a whiteboard, diaply screen, video screen, seating arrangement, or chat recorder, etc) to be rezzed to a fixed position. There would be a number of different tools in one room, so students could choose the tools they need.

2. The room/building itself, with the unrezzed tools inside, could also be rezzed/unrezzed into a fixed position on the land from a container.

This way students could decide to rez a room or not as well as chose tools to rez. I would also poisiton tools out in the open so they could work under the sky or starts as they liked.

Hope both 1 and 2 are possible.

Thanks

Andrew, thanks and a follow-up. I'm told 2. is not possible as the tools are not mine and some are 'no copy'. Is this correct?

Thanks again

Yes, I believe both of these ideas are doable under the LSL scripting languages. You might try asking how to go about implementing it on the Scripting Tips forum.

Corwin, sorry I thought you were just asking if (2) was possible 'in general' rather than asking if your current exising buildings and content could be made to behave that way.

Yes, the permissions on your current buildings and other content (no-modify in particular) could interfere with your ability to add the scripts necessary to make the stuff do what you want.

No, there is no feature yet that would allow you to easily give others the capability to rez-derez a large collection of no-modify content that does not yet have that functionality built into its script behavior.
