"Improving Blog Reliability"

I would like to know how continually working to silence the comunity is in the best interests of us, your paying customers?

(Refering to pathfinders blog post, where in the name of blog stability, comenting is to be disabled)

Sites like slashdot or digg (and many others) manage to provide extremly busy blogs with hundreds of comments day after day after day. Why are you unable to?

Its the problem not entirly technical? Is it costing to much time 'moderating' everything thats posted?

IMO Allowing comments only after the crisis has passed is simply unacceptable.

Also, I would really like a response to the question above, we have all noticed its taking longer and longer for posts in this forum to be answered (due to the volume?) with many serious questions being simply ignored time and time again.
