Still missing inventory from last week

I'm trying to be patient, but this is a little absurd. I have bug reported this four times now. I have posted here, in this forum. I have sent an email to support@lindenlabs.com and today it was returned to me as undeliverable. I have sent IMs and notecards to one of the original vendors who will not respond to me.

This is not the vendor's responsibility.

This is not MY responsibility.

Database integrity issues, which is what loss of inventory represents, is LINDENS' issue. If Linden Labs cannot provide this MOST BASIC of guarantees, then I certainly cannot envision spending much further time or money here, and I will gladly enlighten friends in other games what they can expect for service.

Here is the letter I emailed to Linden Labs support:

"RE: The following bug reports, all on the same issue: #493931, 493994,
497767, and 506478.

Dec 1, about an hour after the grid came back up following the patch,
I was placing no-copy animations/poses/dances on my new Huddles EZ
Animator. In order to do this, I had to rez a copy of the animator on the
ground at my friend's property in Klaw and manually drag each animation
or pose over to it.

After I finished moving the animations over, I took the animator back
into my inventory. I saw it go into the inventory. I then tried to
attach it to my HUD. I received an error message that another object was
pending for that spot. I tried again and again and received the same
message. After 20 minutes of this, I relogged, thinking this would
settle the problem. Instead, THAT COPY OF MY ANIMATOR was gone, TAKING
WITH IT over 2000L worth of no-copy animations/poses/dances. In one of
the previous bug reports, I listed the missing animations.

Over a week has passed. I have thoroughly searched my inventory. My
friend has confirmed that there are no objects on his property other
than his own. I have filed bug reports. I have asked for help on the
official Linden forum. This morning I logged in to find an object being
given to me (I do not know by whom). I was excited because the object
was a copy of the Huddles EZ Animator. But when I opened it, I
discovered it was just another generic one, just like those already in my
inventory. My missing animations/poses/dances were not there.

I have sent IMs and notecards to the vendor where most (not all) of
the poses/animations/dances were purchased, but she has not responded to
me. (Risque is the name of the store. Her name is Tink Buttercup.)

My animations are still missing. I would like them back. I would
like to believe that database and inventory integrity are of paramount
importance to a company such as yours, because that is a very basic
expectation of MMOs.

Please help me. I have been playing in Second Life only three weeks
and have spent gobs of money here already. But if you cannot help
recover these, then I simply will not entrust another penny of my money to
the care of your database. I'll go back to WoW, where my second life
may have less freedom, but at least it can be trusted.

Here, again, is a list of the missing animations:

girlygirl sit
girlygirl stand1
girlygirl stand2
girlygirl stand3
girlygirl stand5
Aug stand2 06
risque' fly
Splits and Giggles
pump it up slow
risque dancer
fairy stand 4
Sneak peak

Abranimations sitting-on-hands
seductive sway
lambada
sexysway

Please, I feel so ignored right now. Please recover these items and
return them to me, or I can't see there is any good reason to trust
your company with my time or money."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been more than patient on this issue. If you are unable to recover these items because your database management is sloppy, please simply say so and I'll move along back to WoW. I may not have as much freedom of character customization there as I do here, but I am absolutely certain I will never have my items "lost" forever due to junk coding or server instability.

Please restore my faith in your good faith.

Sweet - I've passed your name onto our database expert, in case it's the recent transfer which caused your trouble.

If that's not it, and if you tried to rez something and it disappeared from your inventory, or if objects of yours have vanished while in-world, those are likely different issues.

If that sounds more like what happened, please send a bug report in Second Life from Help menu > Report Bug and IM Kona or Beast Linden with the # of the auto-reply email you get from our bug-tracking software.
