I would like to know where we will go to ask our questions and get answers after the forums close??????

Other sites and the Blog is not going to work when it comes to Tech and an example is this area "Second Life Answers"!!! And we get the best answers from other residents as in Designing and Building or even Land & Economy and lets not forget the General Threads!

Why do you feel the need to take away something else we as the residents find useful??

It seems to me like lately it's always something we are looseing, you make features or change features we really didn't need, but get more bugs on top of the ones we have had for a long, long time! And now you want to take away the very place we come to for answers and help from other residents of SL....sigh :(

All the online games I have seen have forums... And you claim to be the best game online well it sure seems strange we will not have one! Use the Blogs... hmmm don't think so, it really doesnt make sense. If I have a question or concern I surely wont get help there! And please dont direct me to Live Help most the time the answers we need we can not get from them.

I just don't understand. I really don't think its because of the lack of money to pay people to moderate, I'm sure LL could spare a few $$$ considering the amount alot of us pay for Land , Islands, and Premium Accounts. The least we could get are these forums not have to go to 3rd party sites.

Heya Zazas!

Second Life has always been unique in that you can draw comparisons to other online worlds and games, but then again, a lot of things, even broad, overarching aspects, are quite special to us. One of these happens to be using the world itself as a platform for communication. I don't think nearly enough thought--or action--has been paid to increasing and boosting this. Signs are emerging, like the addition of Notices to the Group tools in the upcoming SL 1.12.

Simply put, there's no shortage of ways to ask questions--and again, please let me make clear:

Content Creation forums are open-ended.

^ should be read carefully by everyone who hasn't yet.

Of course, it's wonderful to help Residents help each other! :)

After the initial closure of some of the Resident Conversation forums, we're going to continue to observe what happens.

SL Answers will be scaling to a new model, perhaps one emphasizing more Resident involvement, totally consistent with what you mentioned. The situation you mention isn't so simple, because resources need to get allocated. For all the time I spend on here, it means less time... checking out issues inworld and getting them handed to the right Lindens for fixing. I have many stories on my own personal blog, like this one, of what needs to be done.

Not so much about moderation (or forum moderation ;) ) as balance sometimes, if you know what I mean.

I believe we do need to make the process more visible to help you understand how much time + energy goes into many other aspects of the Second Life experience.

And, I get 100s of questions asked to me privately in email, IMs, PMs, etc. so there's no shortage of those. I've never been concerned about a shortage of feedback--people who want to share will find a way, and I'm here to listen!
