Such things as appearance, edit land have never been updated and came of age. and we wont get into edit linked parts not working right.

with all the updated graphics cards now that are required why not make appearance more realistic in the sense make changing shape size more semetrical to real life. not like now wihen you make the torsol muscles bigger the whole body explanes and even looks pregnant or the hair is a matted form of whatever. i put a real life hair texturs on it and it never did look like it just gave a matted look
how about this for appearance
top tabs would be what the side upper tabs are now. once one c hooses a top tabs it opens up some side tabes that fine i mean fine tune the av each part.

and edit land well nothing really works right in edit land except when you highlight part of the land with a box and do an apply. but still when tools are used separately it doesnt work. the flatten raises or lowers land doesnt flatten and smooth the same
make edit land say able to highlight as little as 16 meters. make an option called rounde this would round raised land to look more like hills not spikes as it is now.

and edit linked parts. if an object is not lnked there should be something in the code that tells the code to ignore the object so it has noting to do with linked parts. so if we accidently leave that checked we can still use the editing tools like duplicate. and when we choose a linked object with Edit Linked parts on we can acutaly resize it without it bouncing back to original size. cant do that now have to unlink the part to do it. or make it so we can choos the linked object and use the numbers not specifically the arrows as we have to now. and rotation doesnt even w ork.

and fix old bugs that have been here since the beginning of sl. alot of us were talking the other day and agree that the next version should be one to fix old bugs and really make sl work right and improve on the above items appearance, edit linked parts and edit land

now here are some novel idea Lindens that would benefit everyone. well us who build and edit land anyways but fixng old bugs benefits everyone.

Yes, it does bug me too when there's old stale "soreteeth" (as I call them) that haven't been touched in a long time. Like, whatever happened to the Gestures panel, right? ;)

But, maybe you've noticed changes in a variety of areas: such as Buy Land is a lot different than it used to be. Inventory has been incrementally gaining improvements (I hear we're gonna get an INBOX soon!), and the World Map has been a lot more colorful since 1.7 I think.

Avatar meshes--now I don't think those will be touched for awhile, but there's a lot that can be done with the current avatars in the way of self-expression. Hang on to find out... this one ain't over.

I don't know of any radical changes to land editing or edit linked parts, but if you have a clear vision for an intuitive way to get it done, I'd certainly say it in Feature Suggestions, and this is super-important: get other like minds involved. :)

That being said, I would certainly recommend garnering community support from your fellow Residents on something like the Feature Voting Tool. If you focus on an idea you feel strongly about, sketch it out and then define it lucidly and get it going around, great things can happen--it may take time and patience but that positive persistence all adds up.

And similar to what you said, has broad benefits.
