This has probably been answered, but for the life of me, the search functionality on the forums have been aweful (endlessly searching, or returning blank pages). Try a search for 'tier' on the answers forum and see for yourself. *laughs*
My question is with regards to moving up a tier, and the associated payment.
My automatic tier payment was on the 8th of this month. I've been thinking about bumping up to a higher tier, which of course costs more. If I was to raise my tier at the moment, would I be charged the entire amount for the next tier level immediately, or would the difference in the fee between the two teirs be charged immediately?
Right now, I'm at 8192m.. and was charged the usual $40.. the next tier is $75. Would I be charged the whole $75 or only the $35 difference and my next billing cycle charged the entire $75. If I'm charged the full $75 immedately, is there any pro-rated credit since in effect I'd be paying for what I just paid for once already.
Again, appologies if this was asked and answered already.. I might recommend that the it be clarified within the tier change page on 'my account' as well.

Hello Teddy. You will not be billed until the next date of your billing cycle--so no, you won't be billed immediately. I would recommend contacting billing@secondlife.com for specifics about your account. Further details are mentioned on the Land Fees page: From: someone Land Use Fees are monthly recurring charges for the peak amount of Second Life land held during the previous 30 days, minus the land allocation you received as part of your Premium membership plan. Please choose the ownership tier that best reflects the amount you want to be charged each month for land use fees.
When you indicate in Second Life that you want to add to your land holdings, you will be alerted if the new acquisition moves you into a higher tier requiring a greater monthly land use fee. The new amount is indicated below. If you choose not to move into the higher cost tier, simply choose not to complete the land acquisition.
Sorry there's suckage in the forum searches too, I do a lot of them and it's harsh! Planned improvements are underway.
