Any Linden comment on this?

I was just wondering if this proposal was going to be commented on by Linden Lab any time soon:

I have also heard of something called the "Grid in a box". Any info on that coming out any time soon?

Many of us think that such a capability is inevitable, however I don't think LL has reached a collective final agreement about whether it would be done at all.

There are a lot of security/trust issues to be resolved and features to implement before external simulators could be connected to the grid, so "not soon", We certainly are not actively working on it, there is too much other stuff that needs to be done first. I think some Linden speculated publicly that it might be done in one or two years, however I think two years would be a very optimistic estimate.
