It seems quite clear that the "Vote" system does not work, because there are so many duplicate and similar proposals, and with us being only limited to 10 votes to spread between almost 2000 proposals, it is impossible for us to lend our support to however many proposals we feel would be a great improvement to Second Life.

As it is well publicised how the developers basically choose their own work, and do what they like when they feel like it, is there any chance you could point a few of them over in the direction of this forum to see if they fancy doing any of the many great suggestions that we make here, yet never see the light of day because they never get to hear that people are asking for them?

It is quite possible that some of the work they are currently doing could be expanded to include some of the suggestions included here, and thus enabling them to actually do things that *we* want, as well as whatever pet projects take their fancy.

Actually, what you state is different and doesn't include the whole picture!

Developers choose their own work, yes, but *not* at the expense of community concerns! Whenever possible, development includes, not excludes, your feedback... as it's beneficial to us all. :)

A project is more likely to be chosen to worked on based on something many Residents want and is feasible, as opposed to something which few ask for and impractical. I have many examples I can show, and they're contained within my past forum and blog posts.

One of the BIG monoliths, the new Group tools in Second Life 1.12, had TONS of little proposals adding up which became part of the entire featureset. Feature Voting Tool totally helped there--Angel Fluffy could tell you all about all those bits 'n' pieces.

As for the voting tool sprawl, we have a new Community Manager, Jean, who'll be working on making things more manageable! Please feel free to say "hi" to her and let her know your suggestions.

It's unfair to say "we" without defining who that is, and while the expansion continues, there's definitely a lot of big, little, and many things in between that came true because of the Feature Voting Tool helping to represent the voices of Resis.

Clearly this correlation must be stated better, so please look for me to blog about this and similar things in the future.
