Tonight I wanted to give positive ratings to Kisa Naumova for helping me out with a great script she has available, but when I accessed her profile from the IM dialog, Rate was not available. This was very disappointing, as I have no idea if I'll ever run into Kisa in-world, but I really greatly appreciated her help and wanted to send a positive rating. Is this intentional, and if so, why?

You can rate another resident in these ways:
*right-click on an object they made and select their profile button from the Object Edit window
*right-click on their avatar
*select their name in your friends list.
As you note, you cannot rate someone by clicking on the profile button from an IM window. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but I'll ask around for more info on this.
