On Tuesday, ZeeLinden released some really interesting statistics on the official blog.

Since the summer, I've watched the ebb and flow of debate about the impact on SL of the 'free accounts.' Forgetting for a second the Lindens' business model, and looking only at the 'quality of life within SL', leads me to wonder, "Are there statistics on the number of abuse reports"? And can they be matched against the account signups?
If there's NO correlation between the influx of free accounts and the number of abuses reported, then it would seem to disprove that the free accounts are the ruination of SL.
OTOH, the converse is true. (And this also doesn't settle the debate about how LL will pay for the hardware and people needed to keep up with the influx of new citizens.)
In any case: Is there some historical trend information on just how the number of AR's has changed over time? As raw data? As Abuse Reports/Account? etc.
