I need to know, if LL has foresaken it's "poor" users or not.

I'm going to try and not make this a rant, and instead go with what facts I can:

#1 It is widely known that a user wielding great financial power in SL violated the TOS by buying/selling accounts in SL. The TOS was changed to allow this behavior.

#2 It is known that a charter member has been griefing a "smaller' user in Kissling, "Word on the street" in SL is that nothing will be done about it due to the "Special status" of said griefer.

#3 Land values have steadily rose as of late, and huge blocks of mainland sims have been sold to those few users who can muster tens of thousands of dollars to purchase them, they are them allowed to resell these sims at a markup of their choosing further driving up land values and allowing the few who have such capital to pad their pockets in the process.

#4 Propositions such as "Havok 2" and "Increased Land Controls" that have high levels of "general citizen" backing have languished, while the Estate land tools have gotten an overhaul benefiting only those users with a sim or more of land.

#5 A user was banned from the forums at the same time a new policy of "if you are banned from the forums you are banned from SL" was implemented. It is widely thought that this person was not completely banned due to extensive sim ownership.

#6 A small minority of landowners voiced their displeasure at the removal of telehubs. The fact that telehubs were going away had been mentioned well before it was completed, however LL caved in and gave them a buyout for their land anyway.

My question then is, does LL (Mainly this would be directed towards Philip) look upon those owning a sim or more of land as being more important to the future of SL, and therefore give them special treatment and exceptions?

If not, I would just like to bring these points to Philips attention, as it appears his policies are seriously leaning that direction and he might not be aware of that fact.

Thank you.

Lasivian,

I'm not aware of some of the claims you make, and others don't tell the whole story. I do appreciate that you didn't accuse anyone or name individuals you think may have received unfair preferences.

I think the best way for me to respond, rather than try to guess at the circumstances you're describing, would be to just chat inworld and see if I can't clarify your concerns.

I can say this - we try to make policies that address everyone in SL in a balanced way. Sometimes a choice, say to improve estate tools before implementing Havok, has nothing to do with who is paying what, and everything to do with what's most practical at the time from an implementation standpoint.
