Classifieds and Business Support

Before the advent of Google-style "Pay for rankings" classified listings, I was paying quite a reasonable weekly fee for my classified ads. I'm now paying in excess of 5,000L per week to get the same list position I had before.

I'm paying more money for the same results and the same traffic. I'm not actually making any more money, and my profits have been heavily hit by this weekly business overhead.

I'm just curious about what it is I'm getting in return for all of this extra expenditure. Since you've instituted Google-style pay-for-rankings, is there any hope of Google-style reporting? It would be useful to be able to view stats such as:

- How many times and ad has been clicked to open the right-hand panel
- How many times a viewer has chosen to TP from an ad
- What words or phrases people are searching on when a specific ad is returned as a search result

I'm paying rather a lot of RL money for these ads (its twice what I pay in RENT for over 8,000m2), and it seems only fair that if LL is going to target the business community for additional significant payment, you folks should also be supporting the business comminity with commensurate business tools.

Any hope of that?

Sabrina, I completely agree, and we've been looking at how we can give you more value for your money, both in terms of greater exposure and also greater accountability. I don't have a timeline for you, but I'd like to get something in place over the next few months.
