Question about temporarily downgrading

I have read about downgrading and have also searched the forums but I'm still not clear on one thing.

If I downgrade my acount what happens to my land? do I lose it?

The downgrade would be temporary. I usaully find two games (I know...it's not a game...) to play and switch between them every couple of months.
I'm ready to go back to World of Warcraft for a little while but I'm concerned about my piece of land.
