SL Forums search broken?

It appears the SL forums search is now limited to posts made only in last month, even though advanced search window allows to specify much longer time periods, and defaults to 'all posts made ever' for that matter.

When can we expect this issue to be fixed, or is it "working as intended" and it's just another stealth "tweak" done to squeeze some more performance out of the dying server cow..?

edit: on some further inspection, it appears the problem is two-fold. Search queries results are capped at 200 answers, and certain forum sections --specifically, the Classifieds forum-- is now being purged from posts which are more than 1 month old. Is LL infrastructure really that weak, these kinds of desperate measures need to be taken? For the wannabe 'provider of next generation web' this is rather... pitiful o.O;

Friendly greetings Joannah! While unlimited search would be... freeing... historically, we've experienced problems with the forums breaking down due to database load while many extensive searches were carried out, resulting in blank pages, the forums not loading, attachments being lost, etc. It was all in all pretty unpleasant, and currently: we cull Classifieds regularly, usually a month or a couple months back.

Most server resources have been allocated to other things, and you'll notice on some fronts, we've been moving towards offsite hosting like Amazon S3 for viewer downloads, and WordPress for the Official Linden Blog. So it's possible there may be forum changes in the future, but currently, this is not a priority.

I'm hoping for a more streamlined system than vBulletin, which we didn't create, and I've often had to wrestle with (I'm currently awaiting support back on a couple outstanding questions to them...). I wish it worked better, but it doesn't.
