Linden Labs,
It seems that for the past few months, our residental time in SL is deteriating to a mear few hours a day sometimes due to grid attacks. Mostly from what say are self-replicating items. A once in a while attack can be dealt with...but we are talking about daily down time due to these problems, and delayed updates. I check the blog daily but it never gives detailed accounts as to what is going on. I know you set your goal high to get a large number of active members just like such games as World of Warcraft have..but it's time to face the fact. SL is never going to be like that game. My husband and myself both play WoW, and their down time, even with thousands of players, is very minumal. I've been in SL since Nov. of 2004, true it's not as long as others...but every month it's slowly getting worse. I do not wish to leave SL, I love it here... but honestly it's time to set the right things in order. Granted SL is very bad right now..but think back to 3 months or so ago, it was not this way. Things have gotten to be very different around here..starting with open unverified registration. You guys had verified reg. for a VERY long time and the game survived..there is no reason to keep such a foolish number jumping griefer tool available. If people TRULY need an alt, there are means to getting an alt without making up a fake email address just to get you into the game. These past few months have been horrendous. Not only on our end..I'm sure on yours as well. Especially after the system was messed with. I think I speak for all your residents when I ask that you seriously think about what direction Second Life as a game is taking, and what it is doing to your residents. I used to play a game with absolutely NO customer service and one of the things that kept me playing SL was your promptness to get things accomplished and your overall attitude towards your members. I know you'll hear these things from your loyal residents, one's who care..and do what's best for us.
Yours Sincerely, Addison White-Second Life Resident
