This topic is a list of votes in the SL voting system which are duplicates of other votes, or are already implemented. Thus, they should be closed immediately, to help keep the voting database free of redundant stuff.

http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=1008 - close all folders in inventory
http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=1110 - using paypal as identity confirmation for signup

Implementation in progress, more control over groups :
http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=1274
http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=1261

Possibly redundant, more group stuff :
http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=567

Possibly already implement / being looked into as part of groups :
http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=448
http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=344

It would be nice if some of the feature-guru Lindens gave the votes database a once over and closed duplicate proposals and all those which have already been implemented - it would clear up the database a lot.
There are many things that I'd like to see voted on to draw some Linden attention but it's hard to focus the attention of a large group of people on the voting system when a lot of votes are already implemented or duplicates.... it results in a lot of wasted attention (and votes).

I request 3 things :
1) Lindens, close or common on the proposals above - they're either already in implementation, or we think they're already under implementation. Either way they're cluttering up the voting system.
2) Everyone else - if you see any proposal that has already been implemented, or is a duplicate of another proposal which has been commented on, please post the link here so the Lindens can clear it up.
3) Feature request to improve voting system : Please require that votes submitted have a valid forum URL, and that this URL displays when you visit the vote's page. This would make it clear where people could go to comment on a proposal, and it would make it much easier to detect duplicate proposals.

Thank you!

Angel, why thank you for pointing these out! Let me bring these to the attention of Robin right away so we can get tidyin' up. I've got to emphasize how much it helps when Residents--like you!--observe and bring up things like this. Can I say it again? THANK YOU.

1) will hopefully be done soon.
2) SL Answers is post-only and others can't reply, but you can start a new thread in Feature Suggestions if you want, or I can copy this one... just let me know okay? PM or IM me or email (torley@lindenlab.com) even. ^_^
3) Thanx for the feature request. It'd be useful to flesh things out, although some may have a simple proposal that doesn't necessarily require a forum URL... and I also agree the URL should show up on the proposal's own page, not just the summary. I think it was Eep Quirk who mentioned this before, too (correct me if I'm wrong). We do want to ameliorate the voting system in the future!

I should also emphasize, because some have asked... all proposals with 500 or more votes will receive a Linden comment about its status, showing we respond and care when there's great rallying of community support behind a particular feature suggestion! :)
