A possible connection between the hacker and the grid attacks?

You know, I just put this all together today, but am a little slow on the take so probably you already came up with this thought.

This onslaught of grid attacks really started in full swing right around the same time that SL was hacked of user data just so the hacker could exploit free L$. Could these grid attacks that happen twice a day now be retaliation for you being able to stop the hacker before he took everything?

Seems very plausible when you consider the fact that if the guy is smart enough to be able to hack into your system, he's smart enough to run exploits in the scripting code inside SL. I'm willing to bet money these two things are connected.

Now the bigger question is, if they are indeed connected, how do you put a stop to it? And I'm not talking about things like getting rid of unverified accounts or disabling scripting on free accounts. I'm saying if this guy knows enough to be dangerous (which clearly he does), could you even be able to track him down to put a stop to this? It seems to me he definitely has a vendetta against LL, so he's made it his mission to ruin you guys for not allowing him to do what he wanted. Just my thoughts.

Thanks for the feedback. As mentioned in Robin's Recent Blog Post on Security, we do take these issues very seriously. Earlier this week, we met with Federal authorities to share information we've gathered to date on the attackers.
