messaging to people in game problems

when they message someone in game from outside of the game?

This may happen if someone sent you an IM to your email box and it's been there for over two days or so--it basically expires and is no longer valid when you try to reply.

If someone sends you a fresh IM-to-email, that "resets" the clock and you can start replying back when you're not logged in again.

If that isn't the case, you can feel free to ask me to IM you when you're offline (torley@lindenlab.com is my email), you can reply, and see if this happens once more for you.
