Is there anyway to make the new snapshots defaut to a preview window instead of having the snapshot cover the whole SL window? It is just real agony to try to take snapshots now, and you miss so much while you fool with those dialogs.

Not a way currently but I've been aggregating feedback related to this. Haravikk Mistral has a good idea:
