Hi

Another question I have relates to the three dimensional world that is SL.

I find it amazing that nobody has implemented some kind of three dimensional pricing or structure to the world. I mean, we have characters that can fly, yet the best examples of anything in the air are sky-homes which are usually just there because the neighbours are built up to the boundaries down below.

The 768m restriction is also unusual to me since we can't fly that high unaided, I suspect it's so we can build above the level that unwanted guests will fly up to or nosey in on. However, I did wonder if there was a way to effectively 'stack' a sim on top of another. Lets say for example that above the 768m limit you enter another sim, which could be 'in orbit' above the one below. This could be a very low prim region, so maybe two could run between a single server, but it could have new properties such as the character won't sink downwards when not flying since he is effectively in space. The environment could also represent this with a permanent night and stars backdrop. The occasional shooting star or meteor shower might be a nice touch.

A default of no gravity and maybe the ability to turn your avatar on his side as if he is no longer subject to normal gravity. Prims that can act as gravity sources so that you can walk up walls etc, ala many sci-fi stories. These would all be amazing features if implemented and would certainly make SL even more unique in the land of MMO sims.

Now that is 'land' which I'm sure would sell well, especially for sci-fi fans and would make for some amazing themed areas I'm sure. I just don't see how the current 2D layout would allow for such am architecture.

What do you think anyway?

I think that would be very cool.
