I will use generic names to protect the innocent..
Yesterday Jan 1 2007 I purchases a plot of land that had a casino on it, we'll call the casino Pyramid of Flem, the negoiations went on for 2 weeks. Finally an argreement was made for both the property and the objects. i had already done a full inventory of the objects and knew which transfered and which didnt, and based my offer on fair market value for the land and the transferable objects.
I took the 3 objects of of value into my inventory, we will call them PGA holdem tables again to protect the innocent. PGA tables where set with transfer permissions and was clearly marked this way on the permission properties BUT when i rezzed them again and tried to set them up, they informed me that they were not , and would not be operable for me since i wasnt the registered owner of the PGA tables.
Now there is a few issues here that need to be addressed. the most important issue to me of course , who should i hold liable, the seller of the "Pyramid of Flem Casino" or the creator of the PGA tables?
I spoke to the creator and he informed me that upon registering the tables the owner had to agreed to not transfering the tables or else they wouldnt work. Unfortunately that was totally unbenounced to me as the permissions clearly read transferable.
On one hand the seller in this instance would clearly be liable, but, being the fact that the creator knowingly and purposely created the item with transfer rights, and included a script to make it inoperable upon transfer rendering it totally useless after the fact, I feel could also be held liable, if not for any other reason than purposely circumventing the permission rules set by LL
Just as a note of importance, the total value of these 3 PGA tables equals L$75,000, when translated to USD would be much more than needed for felony fraud in all 50 states.
i just need to know who in this case would be considered the responsible party, and follow up with information if needed to pursue this matter legally if it cant be worked out inworld
Thank you
