Hi Lindens,
I have a question about the giving of a gift certificate account upgrade (to premium) to an existing account holder. The intended recipient of my gift does not currently have a verified account, just the free one. I understand from reading the other answers here that a verified account is required for such a certificate to be activated (not sure about the activation procedure either?).
So, if the recipient of the gift registered their preferred payment details, would they then get an automatic debit on those details when the renewal payment was required?
More details on the website regarding the scenarios surrounding the giving of certificate / upgrades is needed.
Cheers!

Once your friend has payment info on file, then they can upgrade the account to Premium (payable monthly, quarterly, or annually). To upgrade an account, simply log into My Account at the website and click the link Upgrade/Downgrade Account.
Their account will then be billed within 24 hours, and the appropriate amount will be deducted from any US$ balance on the account--such as the US$credit from your gift certificate. Gift certificate credits are available to the recipient to use on whatever they choose--including buying L$. So, if the recipient wants to use the gift to pay for an account upgrade, they should be sure to leave the balance untouched until the upgrade is billed. If they use the gift on L$ then upgrade the account, any extra amount due for the upgrade will be charged against the payment method on file.
Thanks for the question, and we'll look into improving the gift certificate instructions on the website.
