I've been noticing lately that my hover tips aren't working as they used to...
I know I can turn them on in the options, but it doesn't seem to be persistent across relogs.
Also, when signing up new accounts, I have noticed that the hover tips do not seem to be on by default.

This is a bit of a concern, since most products I have for sale rely on the hovertip to communicate important information about the product to the potential purchaser.

It was my understanding a while back that the behaviour of the tips would be thus: they were only active when you moused over an item you could interact with in some way.
That worked out really well, got rid of a lot of the hover-spam (we really didnt need to know everything was named "object" with "no description" anyway).

With the addition of the click-modes (pay, sit, touch, buy ect) all I get when I mouse over a vending box is a little symbol and none of the additional information contained in the object name and description fields.

I dont know if anything can be done to improve how this all works, but as both a shopper and a retailer, it's becoming an intense frustration.

A new player does not know right off the bat that they need to activate those hover tips- these are also the people that need the extra information the most, so that they can make more informed purchases with thier limited funds.

help!!!!!!!!!!! is there any way this can be improved to be more informative for consumers?

I posted this yesterday on my other account, and have recieved no response on it. Some answer would be apreciated, as there is currently no comparably effective way to get information about a vendor-box to the customer.

Merged!

Hey NephiScarlet =)

Ah, pardon... just so everyone knows, I wish to communicate:

1) It's been getting increasingly difficult to take care of SL Answers. As you can see the volume of posts and replies. Some will say, "Get more Torleys!" to which I *blush* but, that hasn't been a trivial task either. The future model will likely have to change to address things in broader strokes while keeping a keen eye on fine-tuning RX (Resident Experience) stuff like this. I've been chipping away at it, but it's compounded by...

2) My hands have Repetitive Stress Injury, which slows me down even further. More info in: /140/89/116026/1.html :( So I would like to say thank you for being patient, really.

3) We still have the obligatory "5 day" waiting period as mentioned in: /invalid_link.html

The enthusiasm is appreciated hehe.

So about your Q, I remember when this behavior was changed. I think if there's enough Resident interest to reinstate things to the way they were and show Hover Tips by default, I would be more than happy to advocate it, or if there's suggestions for something altogether superior. Just let me know what you want to see done; I'll look for common threads in the community.

Keep me in the loop, you know where to reach me (torley@lindenlab.com) and I'll be sure to let the appropriate developers know too.
