while reading through a particular thread i started to wonder about reasons given for suspenion/banning..
it seems that a historical problem with these infrasctions, is that the offendor isn't given a particular reason, but given a blanket statement in the stead of something more definitive.
my question is, would it be possible for LL to provide more distinct reasons for a suspension/banning than said blanket statemets?
for SLers to learn from their mistakes, it would behoove both LL and SLers alike to define whatever the offense is more clearly to the offendor than a simple blanket statement.
i understand that with the growth of the population that providing such detailed information may be over-reaching the scope of LL staff, but giving a generalized reason is frustrating instead of informational.
might there be a way of addressing these concerns that would both be easily implemented and helpful at the same time?

Hello Cybin! Fancy seeing you on this end of the forums. Glad you asked. You--and others--will be pleased to know that we've been concerned about this at the Lab for a long time. Recently, an ability to do precisely this was implemented in the last few weeks. Now, when sending a disciplinary letter, a specific reason that isn't so broad can also be included, appropriate to the context of what happened. Correspondingly on the Police Blotter, there are more specific statements too: http://secondlife.com/community/blotter.phpFor example, on today's stream... Date: Thursday, June 15, 2006 Violation: Disturbing the Peace: Parcel Encroachment Region: Dubia Description: Roof extending over property line. Action taken: Warning issued. Some people ask, "What is Parcel Encroachment"? And that description gives a very succinct example.
