Teraforming limits

I understand why a teraforming limit was introduced... but why must it be so little?

I submitted this question as the 3rd question in the forum thread for those who couldn't attend the latest town hall.

I never got it answered.

For those that own vast quantities of mainland, some of us want to construct landscapes and mountainous regions, but you cant do squat with 4-/+m.

Is the teraforming limit being reconsidered?

Alleyn, good news is: this is Second Life, purrhaps I'll see you inworld soon! Avatar-to-avatar. Thank you graciously for your words. I used to make music before Second Life, before I had hyperacusis--I did it for about two decades. I did have some CDs but I enjoy sharing the music for FREE. And yes, on occasion I've had loops played and had it broadcasted inworld too. And moreso, thanx for reading my blog. =^_^=

As for your question, it's a great question! Creative leeway for terraforming does mean a lot of room to use the terrain as your canvas. The downside is it also allows for really unsightly (relative depending on who your neighbors are) plunging cliffs and gaping chasms. While currently, I doubt terraforming will be "grandfathered" in, meaning regions with +/- 4 m getting expanded limits, you prolly already know that land in very old sims has +/- 40 m limits. It's also of note that private islands have a +/- 100 m limit.

This being said, I have not heard of any plans for more ample terraform limits on the mainland, although certainly, you are most graciously welcome to set up a vote proposal and post a corresponding thread in Feature Suggestions to get more Resis who're fascinated by this onboard. The mainland will continue to expand in the future--currently, there's a lot of development going on down south, altho it is at the +/- 4 m limit as well.
