Camera Focus and Changes in Object Lighting

Is there a good reason why the lighting on objects will change once they're the focus of your camera? This is especially noticeable with shiny enabled (and obviously not noticeable at all on fullbright surfaces). It's certainly awkward when you're trying to focus on a build and parts decide to suddenly change their appearance on you.

Attached is a picture in noon lighting with my camera focused on a prim surrounded by uniform prims of the same design.

Tyken, I've noticed similar behavior previously as follows:

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
REPRO:
Rez several 0.5x0.5x10 m cylinders next to each other.
Blank their textures and make them all Shiny - High.
Make them all Taper X = -1.00 and Y = -1.00.
Alt-zoom into each one of them--hold Alt key and click on each one.

OBSERVED:

Appearance of shiny changes noticeably when each is clicked upon.

EXPECTED:
Shiny appearance shouldn't change so drastically.

While I haven't checked to see if this is true at latest, I'll add your observation to the open issue we have on it... and move this to Technical Issues so further observations by other Residents can also be included. Thanks!
