i love LL and SL, really i do, and try to remain positive and not whine too much in the midst of the chaos. i generally figure you guys really are trying your best even when things are truly frustrating..
and yes i know you removed the reg requirements, but..
that said,
honestly, (what) were you thinking when you chose the registration system for the blog?
a system where one is assured SL name= name on blog should have been an absolute no-brainer. i'm sorry, but that was really really dumb thing to miss. i'd like to be more tactful, but it's such a major major goof!
i'm at a loss to express how disappointing this latest foolishness was on top of everything else. i trust future decisions will be a little better thought out, even if i don;t always agree with them.
(yes the question is serious. you guys really missed the boat here, but i'd like to know what -i- am not seeing. you must have had some good reasons for choosing what you did. i hope?)

I agree, it would be far better to be able to connect your Second Life account to the blog automatically, as is currently done here in the forums. While this is not currently the case, we have removed the registration requirement for the blog and hope to move toward that better solution as soon as possible.

jeska- you didn't even answer my question. 8(
why didn't you guys do it the right way -to begin with?- 8( how could you possibly miss that SL names needs to be the same for the blog? 8( (and yes, clearly you have since figured that out).
i am asking a serious, honest question. i would like to know the reasoning behind the original method you guys tried for the blog. i figure there must be some behind-the-scenes factors that i'm not aware of.
i am even more frustrated now, grrrrrrrrrr. please try to actually answer the question i asked.

Sorry I did not mean to avoid your question, I agree with you that the best possible solution would be to allow automatic Second Life account verification for the blog. Unfortunately, we were not able to implement that preferred solution to the new blog before launching it due to resource allocation. As I'm sure you can imagine, our web team has to prioritize many, many projects and that is on the list.
(I've also merged this into your old question.)
