Yes. I, too, am unhappy with the state of the second World.
But I know that you Lindens are trying to make it better.
I know that the version updates are designed to make it better.
I know you worked late into the nights and over this weekend to make it better.
And I know that SL is not being perfect, and we take out our frustrations by yelling at you in the forums.

Given that I know that, I'd like to thank the Lindens for what you're doing. And especially to those Lindens who are tasked with listening and responding to our bitches and moans (Torley, et.al.).

I've seen several ideas this week that I thought were interesting.
1. why not roll out new versions on MONDAYS? that way, you have a normal week in which to clean up any issues.
2. why not SHUT down the production grid and have a Beta Grid Wednesday!?! Where everyone who logs on, gets a full production grid 'physical' environment, but with the 'beta' code. Linden $ are make believe. No transactions are real. And the second world is rolled back on Thursday--just as if nothing happened. THAT'S a true beta--not just of 'code' but of 'scale'.

So how else can we help?

Thanx for your kind words and support, Sterling, I too am unhappy. I believe a lot of Lindens are. Things need to get better.

On your two questions, they've both come up before, but basically:

(1) That's a crunch rush after the weekend, middle-of-the-week gives our Development & QA enough time to do code checks and reviews. This includes correcting issues preemptively which would've made a deploy worse. When possible, we'd rather be proactive and have a balance.

(2) A lot of Residents would find this disruptive and wouldn't agree, especially businessfolk who treat Second Life very seriously when it comes to their enterpreneurship!

Historically, we get a lot of great ideas of "what to do" but they're not broadly representative of a whole community's interests. That why it's our job to listen to them all and see what makes most sense in the big picture.
