New Alt gets spam

Hi,

I just created an alt account yesterday, logged in for a minute to check if it worked and then logged out for bed.
Nothing special there.

On my waking up, I got a mail telling me the alt got a message from someone (who's name I will not mention in here due to TOS violation).
I go to the account and what do I find:
that person sent me a landmark to a casino. To an alt that hasn't even left the arrival area of orientation island.

What I would like to know:
1) is this in violation of any rules (i'd think spam would be)
2) how does this guy find out about new accounts ?
3) I signed someone from my family up about a week ago, the same thing happened; so this is a case of serial spamming;
4) if this is a violation, where do I complain about it ?

You can imagine I wasn't too happy about finding out that new accounts get spammed by landmarks upon first entry into SL. If not in direct violation of any rules, I find the practice to be morally reprehensible and would like to know LL's view on this matter.
I kept the landmark as evidence.

Hiya Will--spamming in SL isn't allowed. It's specifically mentioned in the Terms of Service too.

You can directly complain about this inworld by going to HELP menu ---> REPORT ABUSE and including all the details.

As for how you got looked up, it was likely done via the finder, e.g. FIND ---> PEOPLE and check the Online box and look for random names, then drop spam on them. Unfortunate but it does happen, and as I mentioned, it's not allowed.
