Perhaps it is just Firefox I don't know for certain. But when I mouseover a thread title it changes to the exact same color as threads that have been sticky'd. I find this very visually confusing.
Would it be possible to change the mouseover color to something different?

I use Firefox as well -- and see the same results as you, Darkness. This is part of our current "Linden style" theme for the website. Orange was chosen as a mouseover because it's quite complimentary to blue, but I see how it could cause confusion.
This is why we've made the stickies bold, so they will still stand out, but I don't know of any plans to change the color otherwise (we used to use red for stickies but it was deemed too hard on the eyes), sorry.
