"This proposal isn't specific. So while this is marked as not doable, it's because of a lack of details.
As communicated on our Official Linden Blog, a lot of forums will continue to be around for the foreseeable future, and a new Resident Answers one has been added to help with misc. questions, including those of new Residents.
Also, certain forums have been archived and are still up for reading and searching. /invalid_link.html
Please keep checking our blog for further updates -- we believe Resident-to-Resident and Resident-to-Linden conversation is powerful, valuable, and in addition to the forums, we're going to be looking at more ways to encourage community congregation inworld."
This is not a correct answer.
The specific reason for the vote proposition was to keep the forums as they were. The proposal had full detail that, whilst not perhaps as explicitly worded as it could have been, was very clear in what was in mind.
There is absolutely NO reason why this proposal could not have been implemented, and all forums reopened.
It has been clearly stated a number of times that the blog is not a satisfactory replacement by any stretch of the imagination.
In fact, the issue was discussed with Philip at the recent town hall, and he asked me to forward my suggestions for how the forums could be saved and remain useful to both residents and Linden Lab.
Perhaps you should ask Philip to consider my suggestions, which I forwarded on his request, before deciding for sure that the forums are dead beyond usefulness. I am, naturally, available at a mutually convenient time for him - or an appointed Linden representative - to discuss this issue.
This issue will never go away until full forums are restored, either here or on a third party site. The community cannot be ignored.
