Can we have the true resident numbers displayed, rather than the 'signup' numbers on the front page?
To 'reside' somewhere you have to actually live there - which means only verified accounts at most can be classed as 'residents' as they have the means to at least pay for the land they own or rent. The rest, unverified, have no means to pay for somewhere to live, and can therefore only be classed as 'visitors'. Something like 90% of the visitors log in once and never come back. Is there any need to really count those as 'active' members? Thanks. Broccoli

Hi Broccoli,
Remember that there are people using Second Life on a regular basis who spend time exploring the grid, attending events, building in sandboxes, even building permanent places on plots of land that their friends/groups have allowed them to use...who are not "verified" nor own land.
I don't think there is single definition of "Resident" that will completely satisfy everyone, since everyone has different subjective opinions on the term. However, we'll continue to be as clear as possible when talking about population numbers, and will share as much of this data as we can in the future.
