In this blog entry http://blog.secondlife.com/2006/12/05/second-life-113010-required-update-now-up/ I have a question but comments are off so I suppose I'll post it here.
I am dissappointed that LL has been so silent on the question of fees for classifieds posted last week. This is obviously a major issue. People paid for their ad last week yet the classified system was disabled for 3 days and now back up with limited functionality. Seems the simple answer is to either just extend the ads until the system is fixed or refund the money. Why won't LL answer this question? It's been almost a week and no answer? Torley demand an answer!!!
People have brought up good questions about the strain on the system with people having to post several ads with different first words to help their search chances vs. the other way where it searched the whole ad. Where does LL stand on this?
People are seeing MAJOR drops in their sales because their businesses don't come up in searches the way they used to yet LL says they may only bring "some" of the functionality back. I think this needs to be a priority because your customers are being charged for services they are not getting. Then again maybe people will stop "sinking" outrages amounts into classifieds which will throw the economy way off again.
Finally why on earth are comments turned off? Every time I ask this I get the answer that some things are merely announcements. I thought the idea of the blog was to provide BETTER, more RELIABLE, TWO WAY communication? If you want people to use the blog, let them use the blog, let them post questions there rather than reading the blog, posting a question here and then having to check here for an answer AND the blog for an update...sheesh, it's YOUR system make it useable! I'll ask again for LL to post their policy of what types of announcements warrent comments turned on vs. turned off. Right now it looks like it is something along the lines of...
"if it's something that will cause an uproar, complaining, and a barrage of questions = comments off
if it's something that will get positive reactions = comments on"
Respectfully, yet frustrated
