Hiya,

First the good things;

-Items rez faster.
-Lag appears less. Everything "flowing" smoother.
-Ban list limit increased to 300

Cudos to those invovled here.

Things that should have been tested further, imo;

-The new UI. Normal chat is annoying. Might get used to it, but felt the old system was better. My chat colors are also resetting after every login.
-The new map is poorly laid out. Why such a large field in Search Results?
-Ban Lists wiped, or appearing so from parcel to pacel. Though this might jsut be as the grid stabilise.
-Multiple scripts showing "gliches". Not sure if they are broken yet or not. I'll leave that to the scriptors.

And finally - Things that don't even matter;

-New Pie Menu fading/look. No improvement to function or look, only differnt.
-New Popup look (rounding the corners). No improvement to function or look, only differnt.
-New Map layout. No improvement to function or look, only differnt. Less user friendly, imo.

While those things broken is expected, changing things for no reason (chat, looks, map, etc) is a waste of resources.

I understand unforeseen things occur in updates, and I appreciate the work both in implementing them and fixing what is found after the fact. I'm also sorry that this post sounds whining and petulant. Most of it is to simply let you know what is wrong (yes, BUg Reports were filed already) and to give LL a view of what one resident feels.

Right now I am so annoyed with this new UI that I have logged off. I'm going to take a break and come back to tackle it again. I won't give up, but I humbly ask LL to think longer about new bells and whistles before placing them in. Personally, I feel a new Forum section for Lindens to discuss upcomming features (palnned and in teh works) would be a nice idea. You would hear a lot of stupid ranting, but I feel a majority would discuss reasonably under such.

Thank you.
~Jessy

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

Great sum-up of what I've been seeing!

Good news Jessy, some of those bugs have already been identified and are being worked on internally. Thanks for sending bug reports--that's the best way to get direct to QA, 'cuz SL Answers isn't the right channel. :)

A lot of the improvements are part of a bigger puzzle. The new XML UI thing isn't just for looks: it'll lead to much greater functional customization on the part of Residents. For example, in the future, we could come up with special selections of all our favorite menu items. Today, we can "just" tear them off by clicking the ==== on the top, but more is coming.

It'll make more sense in a few months's time. Hindsight does that.

Better than forums, I think what we'll want to see is a variety of views from many Lindens on a blog. Holding conversations with Residents without the needless redundancy I see so often here keeps it nice and simple.

Sure, I'm all for more communication. =^+^=
