I can't have the name of my group changed?

recently I realised I made a dumb mistake when naming my a group I created, when I asked about the possibility of changing the name on live help al I was told was it most likelly wasn't possible, perhaps due to "database colision", does that mean cause of the risk the name would eb already taken? I know for sure no other group would have the corrected name I want my group to have.

is there somewhere I can read a clear explanation of why u can't have my group's naem changed?

When you create a new group, it asks you:
and shows the group name too.

Reasons why we don't change: we'd be flooded with requests and it'd be too time-consuming, not unlike Second Life name change requests. And yes, it potentiallly creates identity confusion if a group down the line decides to change their name.
