I think we need a bit of clarification on the rulling for this: /139/e2/106070/1.html Reason being apparently people don't understand whether its strictly a change in stats regardless if there is lag or whether a visual effect like regular time dilation spikes would warrent their removal. Also could we have another myth regarding Temp-on-Rez debunked? Do temp-on-rez prims borrow prims from your neighbors or are sims capable of holding more prims then what we are limited to allowing for ToR objects to coexist with a sim full of non-ToR objects?

Regarding this, I'd always look for *patterns*. As in, if you see Sim FPS dip once or twice, it's not a serious concern. But if you notice performance feeling "chunky" at intervals whenever temp-on-rez (or ToR, as I've been seeing it acronymized) objects are rezzed--along with the telltale subtle flicker--then that falls under "regular time dilation spikes" and likely warrants their removal. Any thorough verification needs Before/After testing. Other causes should be ruled out too. I'll give a simple but effective example. I did a test recently in Sandbox Goguen where I set a temp-rezzer to rez a relatively complex, 230-prim model of a vehicle every few seconds. I opened the Statistics Bar, and sure enough, Sim FPS kept falling into the mid-20s, time dilation went shaky, and not too long after, I heard shouts from the other side asking where the lag was coming from. (Oooops.) This clearly inhibited performance, for when I took the rezzer away, the problems stopped. Certaintimes, I look for packet loss affecting myself and ask others in the area too. About that myth: temp-on-rez DO take prims from the regional allocation of what is normally 15,000 prims (ToRing rapidly will lead to "server full" , but don't "borrow" at the parcel level. They'll appear in the refreshed objects list but not show as Objects on parcel. Obviously, it's for this additional reason that excessive usages of temp-on-rez are discouraged, especially in an already-dense area. For anyone who's curious, there's more info on Temporary on Rez here:
