The sticky claims this forum is for "important issues that slipped through the cracks" that would be of interest of many residents.

What exactly does this mean?

I see this morning that pretty much every post about "important issues that have slipped through the cracks" has been shot down with a dismissive reply, directing people to email addresses that have been obviously redirected to /dev/null.

So I ask, what exactly is the purpose of this forum? If policy issues are the only issue that is allowable, maybe it should be renamed to "Linden Policy Questions"

In any case, the sticky should be updated to reflect that you do not want us to post about important issues here.

We do not have any emails that direct to /dev/null.

Issues that have fallen through the cracks are good to post, however it important that this not be the only or even the first place to report such issues. It becomes impossible to keep track of bugs for example unless we direct all bug reports to the same path. Matters that involve personal accounts can not be discussed on public forums and thus are also not good for discussion here.

Notice the long list of what this forum isn't for in the About This Forum post, stickied at the top:

Urgent, grid-wide problems
Region performance problems
Support requests and technical issues
Feature feedback and suggestions
Bug Reports
Abuse appeals

So yes, I have been curtly closing, moving and even deleting threads that do not belong in this forum and we will continue to do so to keep this forum on topic and manageable.
