Wow people, enough already... copybot and lindex.
Lindex = Its not a market failure, its 1 or 2 people with high currency tier trying to instill a panic. LOOK at it, 1 person dumping L$2.7million jumping rates, cancelling the sale and moving to a higher rate once the rate passes the initial mark, and again and again. Its a minor hiccup from some scroupolous currency trader.
Copybot and people closing their stores. You are all mentally challenged. No one cares if your store closes, your items could STILL be copied from ANYWHERE they are rezzed in-world. Come on now, your adding "copybot" to your descriptions so it shows up in search - knowing the vast majority are searching for the word copybot, and your trying to capitalize. What many of you fail to realize is that by using SL at ALL, the prims you see on your screen arent magically protected, they have to be sent and stored somewhere to rez onto your client, and the copybot uses that to allow you to save them.
LL, if ANYTHING, I think recent issues should more clearly point out we need the public forums back so people can answer other peoples questions, the blog and this forum are turning into worthless dribble hard to look through to find answers to anything, the same questions being asked over and over again ad nauseam.
FYI - The copybot just copies prims, does NOT copy scripts. IT is not an exploit, its reading the data sent to your PC and interpreting it. Textures on the prims it copies are also not available in inventory either. Wow so what you made some pretty hair? Who cares if someone copied it... if someone tries to sell your creation, certainly cut their hands off at the wrist. In 2 weeks, copybot will just become a faded memory anyway - VERY SIMILAR to the previous libSL "God Mode" hack that everyone was up in arms about for no reason
Now whats causing more grief? The copybot which was unobtrusive, or the thousands of "Simple Copybot Defeater" IMing every 30 seconds from multiple locations?
