I'm just curious but with the very LAX rules for starting a SL account, how do you keep teens or younger off the main grid? I was able to start my account with no more than a birthday to confirm my age. Most teens know what year they had to be born in to make the cut and could easily lie about their age. I'm asking this not only for the protection of the teens, but for the protection of the MANY SL members who may be "messing around" with minors and not be aware of it.
Please consider changing your policy back to requring a credit card number to start an account.

Cresten, I'm asking for further insight about this as it's a relevant issue to us for the reasons you state.

Like any legitimate online destination where mature content can be found, we ask those seeking admission to declare their age. As with the internet as a whole, it can often be more difficult to determine who someone is not, than to determine who they actually are. As such we request that anyone who admits underage status on the main grid be reported to a Linden.
