If I understand the new release it will be harder and not easier to see ban lines. Why are you doing this? I had a hard enough time trying to avoid ban lines as it was flying my Tarn and it was totally impossible in my Viper. Now the distance is getting smaller than before.

Second Life is not a flyer friendly environment and why cant Linden Labs give residents tools to allow them to avoid these closed sites and security scripts? Between closed land and the problem of crossing sim boundaries on a vehicle, flying is substandard. When is Linden Labs going to address the flyers problems instead of worrying about making the mainland look less ugly from ban lines?

Already Ranma, I've aggregated several related comments. I'm going to watch out for practical experiences inworld and see what happens. If you run into a particularly troublesome area, please email me (torley@lindenlab.com) about it.

An important thing to distinguish is: blacklist bans under the About Land > Ban tab go up to 768 m, but otherwise, restricted access goes to 50 m, which still leaves a lot of skyway altitude.

There's also another problem which I'm well-acquainted with: the default fly+hover limits above the terrain mesh when not using a flight accelerator. There's been some internal discussion about this; I'm personally in favor of abolishing it (Second Life is a 3D world, after all).
