I've heard that Second Life runs on the same engine that was used for half life 1. Is this true? If so, do you think it would be beter to upgrade to a beter engine?

Ah, no, Second Life is not based on Half-Life 1... the latter uses GoldSrc.
Second Life is... Second Life, and we do use middleware like Havok which is used in a number of games. We're more like a fantastical Lego set than anythin'. Have a good one Yugo.  _____________________
